Molly was raised and born in Pennsylvania. She began her professional stage career when she was thirteen in the Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. Her nomination was for one of the Barrymore Award nominee for her character of Little Red Ridinghood at the Arden Theater's production Into the Woods. The role was reprised in the production when she performed her Broadway debut in Into the Woods at Broadway, in 2002. The show won her a Drama League Award for this performance. Molly was in the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof (2004). After that, she went to Princeton University and was a part of Princeton's Triangle Club. She graduated with a bachelor's degree the year 2008. in Religion. She also appeared in the Disney film College Road Trip, playing Wendy Greenhut. After graduation Molly was in Off-Broadway productions of several plays including End Days at Ensemble Studio Theater and also in TV shows, including Royal Pains and an HBO Pilot The Wonderful Maladys. Molly was a part of numerous regional plays, among them The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by Barrington Stage Company in 2008 as well as the North Shore Music Theatre's The Diary of Anne Frank in 2010. The Diary of Anne Frank at the Westport Country Playhouse in which Molly performed the role of Anne. Molly is best known for her role as Ali who is a teen daughter in Paranormal Activity 2, a film that was released in 2010. Jack Burditt wrote and directed.
